Historic Costuming, 2022 - 2023 (oldest to newest)

A quick round-up of my costuming and styles from the year of 2022-2023

1860s style ensemble, purchased from Facebook Marketplace. An absolutely beautiful set. I wore this to a 2022 Victorian Christmas event in Plattsmouth, NE. The downtown was done up like a Victorian Christmas card! It was very pretty, and a few people asked if my group were volunteers. Nope, just crazy!

February 4, 2023
1920's-esque ensemble, worn for a 1920's murder mystery party. Done with the same group as the Victorian Christmas group.

March 11, 2023
1930's outfit. Inspired by the beach outfits worn by women in the 1930's. I followed a 1930's makeup tutorial for a woman with pale skin and brown eyes. Please ignore the mess!

This outfit was worn to Paper Moon Pastries, a 1930's themed bakery in Cortland, NE. The food was really yummy. That same day, I went to go pick up Sepulcher (Seppy) and brought him home for the first time!

Generic pre-1500s European ensemble, worn to the Mag Mor Arts & Sciences (A&S) competition. I took Willa (she was visiting for a week) and she did not like it. Whoops!

I made this gown with the help of my friend Gyda, made my necklace, and made my apron. It purchased the cap a few years ago.

My entry to the A&S Competition. It is a scroll border that I designed. It is too Victorian in nature, but it was very pretty, and I am very proud of it.

Nebraska Renaissance Festival

I purchased the red kirtle (dress) years ago. I made the burgundy overdress and headpiece. I was trying to do a Scarlett Witch historical cosplay. It was okay.

I wore a vaguely Victorian style, and just had fun.

Mag Mor Cattle Raids, August 2023

Dressed in 12th Century-ish French, with the sideless surcoat (aka, the Gates of Hell). I borrowed the blue dress and surcoat from my friend, Lelia.

Calontir Coronation, October 2023

I wore Ancient Roman for the coronation, in Calontir colors (purple and gold), specifically 14 BC - 33 AD because of my hair. More on that later.

The chiton was made by me. The diplax and my jewelry (two necklaces and a pair of earrings) were made by my friend Lelia. She's the coolest! The jewelry is based on Roman mummy portraits.

My hair is a recreation of Agrippina the Elder's portrait bust at the Capitoline Museum in Rome. I followed Janet Stephens' YouTube tutorial. Janet Stephens is a hair archeologist!

Unicorn Dress, Yule Court 2023

Working on the "Unicorn Dress", a linen gown based on the portrait "Young Woman with Unicorn" by Raphael. Completed in Dec. 2023!

Don't remember when this happened, but definitely before October 2023
